FULANI TERRORISTS AMBUSH AND KILL UNIVERSITY STUDENT AT DUM VILLAGE IN RIYOM LGA

The Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM), under the leadership of its National President, Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, strongly condemns the premeditated attack carried out by armed Fulani terrorists in Dum Village of Bachi District, Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Information available to the Association indicates that the incident occurred at about 7:49 pm, when the terrorists, who had already positioned themselves to attack the village, laid an ambush at the entrance of Dum Village.
During the incident, two young men of Rachi kyeng community, Badung Sunday and Dachomo Habila, unknowingly ran into the attackers.
Tragically, Badung Sunday, a 29-year-old NCE 3 student of the Federal University of Education, Pankshin, was shot and killed by the terrorists, cutting short the life of a promising young man who was the only male child of his mother, and whose future held great hope for his family and community.
However, Dachomo Habila narrowly escaped the ambush unhurt, despite attempts by the terrorists to also end his life.
The Berom Youth Moulders-Association describes the attack as a calculated and barbaric assault on innocent civilians, and a clear indication that terrorists continue to deliberately target peaceful Berom communities in Riyom, Barkin Ladi, and Jos South Local Government Areas.
BYM therefore demands an immediate and thorough investigation and calls on security agencies to swiftly track down the perpetrators and their sponsors and bring them to justice. The people of Plateau State cannot continue to live under the constant threat of such attacks.
The Association also calls on security operatives to strengthen surveillance and protection around vulnerable communities that have repeatedly come under attack.
BYM extends its deepest condolences to the family of the late Badung Sunday, the people of Rachi Village, and the entire Bachi District over this painful loss.
While mourning this tragedy, the Association also thanks God for the escape of Dachomo Habila and prays for comfort and strength for the bereaved family.
The Berom Youth Moulders-Association reiterates that the continued killing of innocent people must not be treated with silence or indifference, and urges that the perpetrators be identified, arrested, and prosecuted according to the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
