According to Mr Julius Dung, who narrowly escaped, recounts that, James Yakubu and I, were returning from a Baten hamlet of Kwi Community at about 9:00 or 10:00pm. Unknown to us that a group of 6 Fulani have already laid ambush on our way while we were on motorbike. At about 60 meters into Du’ang hamlet of Kwi Community, my friend screamed out that I should see Fulani. Before I could realize anything, I saw torchlight before me as James jumped down from the Motorcycle. One of the Fulani, who tried to block my way had to edged out when I drove towards him. Immediately I passed, he started running after me while my friend shouted that it’s fulani and I should run. On getting into Du’ang hamlet, I alerted the residents, and vigilante who came out to possibly rescue my friend, but was not seen at where they ambushed us. We started searching for over an hour before his corpse was found and brought to the community headquarters.

Another respondent under anonymity, commended the rapid response of security personnel of Sector 4 of Operation Safe Haven-OPSH, Barkin Ladi LGA, and Mobile Police Unit at Heigwei who, “upon reached out with
distress calls, without hesitation, came and manned the situation,” he narrated.

Aside the rapid response of the security agents, the Sector 4 Commander, also evacuated the corpse to the mortuary to enable OPSH conclude its investigation.

The BYM calls for calmness as investigation is ongoing. However, we passionately appeal for crackdown on attackers, who have continued to use late evening and night grazing to pin-down and lay ambush on unsuspecting residents.

We, unequivocally, wish to state that, should the Fulani continue defying law and order (ban on late evening and night grazing), the BYM would not hasitate to explore the available legal means including lawsuit to stop free/open grazing within Brrom land, since they(Fulani militants) have mastered the abuse of free grazing to perpetrate act of banditry and terrorism.

It’s important to draw the attention of our Youths to, as a matter of emergency of this season, observe the restriction order, banning late evening hours and isolated movement, and intensify vigilance as well as reporting any suspicious movement to security agents so as to avert not only a recurrence of this, but also the renewal of ugly experience of last Christmas-Eve massacres meted out on villages and communities in Plateau State. This is because, local Intel points out to a fact that some terrorists elements of a particular extraction recently brought in arms successfully into the State, possibly to resume their agenda of annihilation.

We are, however, confident that the security formations, especially Operation Safe Haven-OPSH under the Command of Maj. Gen. AE Abubakar, will continue to be on top of the situation, thereby giving us the hope of safety and hitch-free yuletide as well as New Year celebrations if we also comply with security directives given.

According to a local source, a 6-months pregnant women, Mrs Esther Zakka was on her way going home from Rotchu (Rafin-Acha) to Tarai Hamlet after retiring from work. Unfortunately for her, 2 Fulani violently accosted and hitted her laps to weaken her resistance to the criminal assault and attempted rape” he narrated. The source further disclosed that, one of the suspects forcefully lied himself on her pregnancy when the other tied her neck, defying repeated plea.

Consequentially, she became weak as she couldn’t help herself except screaming, which attracted the attention of miners, who went to her rescue and arrested one of the suspects, who is currently with Operation Rainbow unit in Jol.

It’s also gathered that the security agents have rushed her to the hospital for medical treatment

The post BREAKING; FULANI ATTEMPTED RAPING A 6-MONTHS PREGNANT WOMAN OF TARAI, JOL COMMUNITY, 14th JUNE, 2024 appeared first on eccvn.

Privileged information, revealed that some criminals suspected to be fulani militias, have concluded plans to attack some individuals and traditional rulers in various communities in Bokkos, Riyom, and Barkin Ladi LGAs.

The information was discreetly intercepted by a source during conversation between some fulani men. According to the source, the fulanis lamented that hundreds of their cattle were recently rustled by some natives, which they (fulanis) suspected that some traditional rulers and individuals in the aforementioned LGAs were accomplice to the crime, which the fulanis vowed to attack them whenever they had the opportunity. The identified persons are as follows:
i. Saf Butura- Traditional ruler of Butura in Bokkos
ii. Saf Daffo- Traditional ruler of Daffo in Bokkos
iii. Saf Ron/Kulere- ” Bokkos
iv. Mishkaghang Mushere- Bokkos
v. Gwom Rwei Ropp-Traditional ruler in Barkin Ladi
vi. Barr. Dalyop Solomon, President (Berom Youth Moulders)-BYM- Riyom, were accomplice to the crime.

2. COMMENT:
   In view of the foregoing, it is advised that:
   i. The aforementioned persons be advised to take their personal security seriously, as it would be devastating if the threats are being actualised.
   ii. Indebt investigation be conducted to establish the veracity of such claims by the fulanis, which would go a long way to bring about peaceful resolution.

Should the ugly situation not nipped in the bud, the potency of full terror attacks on the unsuspecting inhabitants is eminent. That’s why we are crying loud for urgent attention.

It’s in the light of the situation that the BYM passionately calls on relevant bodies, particularly Plateau State Government and Operation Safe Haven-OPSH as well as other sister security agencies to, as a matter of urgency, swing into rapid response to avert the avoidable looming aggression raising its monstrous Head from that end.

The unjustifiable attacks have led to the loss of lives and injuries sustained by many as well as valuables worth Millions of Naira destroyed continue to cause cursorily point at the real agenda of the Fulani militants and their cohorts as the dastardly act demonstrates not only a blatant disregard for human life, but also an undeniable definition of Boko Haram/ISWAP war against Western Education. This is because, the violence meted out on innocent agrerian villages and students against students of Plateau State University is, in our firm view, a direct assault on education and the future of our Youths.

The BYM commends the response of security agents, particularly Gen. A E Abubakar for his response to distress calls placed during and after the unfortunate events. We, however, calls on all security agents to be more proactive following the earlier intelligence given and not to distort sensitive information that aims at aiding militancy in and around target Local Government Areas.It is rather unfortunate that the Nigerian Intelligence Unit would cheaply fall to the gallery of cooked story only to see the contrary of it.

Following the unfolding of the terrorism witnessed in Bokkos and Mangu at the moment, the BYM calls, with a loud voice, for immediate arrest of the person (s) that falsely informed the DSS that suspected “Berom, Mwagavwul and Ron Militias” were planning attack on Fulani in Mangu, Bokkos and Barkin Ladi LGAs, for such misleading informants are prime suspects and likely masterminder(s) of these pogroms in Plateau.

The BYM calls on government, security agencies, and community leaders to work together to ensure that the perpetrators of these heinous crimes are brought to justice.

We also urge Government to take decisive actions against terrorism, banditry and Fulani militants ravaging villages and Communities on the Plateau and beyond. We equally use this medium to pray for recovery of those injured, especially Mr. Jong Jonathan, the NUBES President, who had was short on his leg by security agents. It’s our passionate appeal that both Government and spirited bodies/individuals to come to the aid of the displaced, injured and other victims so as to reach out love to them.

We also call on the general public to join in condemning these attacks and to support efforts in promoting lasting peace and sincere dialogue within our diverse society.

According to local source that pleads anonymity in Kopnanle village of Mangun District, Mangu LGA, ” the Fresh attacked on our village, Kopnale by suspected armed Fulani and jihadists numbering more than 50 was meted out at about 11:00pm of April 12, 2024….” As a result, 8 unsuspecting inhabitants, mostly children and a pastor were gruesomely murdered. List of those killed in Kopnale of Mangun, Mangu LGA are;

3. Hope Polycarp (age 17) Female
4. Zenret Iliya (age 12) female
5. Kwatpan Monday (age 9) Male

In another eyewitness’ account, it’s revealed that the attackers did not only kill, but burned some property including a Church and valuables.

After killings in Kopnale, “the militants moved to Mandung village of Mushu Tangur in Bokkos LGA, where 9 People had their lives terminated..” said an anonymous local source in Mandung settlement that lost the following persons

1. James mashat (age 78) male
2. Daniel Mashat (age 74) Male
3. Yunana Mashat (age 65) Male
4. Rifkatu Akila (age 68) Female
5. Timothy Luka (age 22) Male
6. Parkyen Daniel (age 22) Female
7. Mwanret Mahan (age 26) Female
8. Isreal Mahan (age 1) Male
9. Zubairu Mafyai (age 40) Male.
   The tragic incident is said to have inflicted physical injuries to some of the survivors while hundreds have been displaced from their ancestral homesteads, giving rise to surge of humanitarian challenges in the general area.

In view of the avoidable killings in Mangu and Bokkos as narrated, ECCVN hereby recommend as follows:

1. Executive order, vacating all lands grabbed by terrorist elements, bandits and Fulani militants in the State;
2. Humanitarian need assessment for possible immediate provision of basic necessities of life such as food, clothing and shelte.
3. . Thorough investigation into the resumption of hostilities in the general area;
4. . Provision of free medical attention for injured persons;
5. Equipping of Local Security Outfits for rapid response before the arrival of Federal Security agents;
6. Provision of scholarships for all students affected by the onslaughts; and7. Any other action deemed necessary in the circumstances.

On visit to the Dorowa Babuje, it’s narrated by a local source under anonymity that, “at about 7:30pm of last night, 18th February. 2023, we heard sporadic gunfire at Rawuru junction. Vigilante rushed for rescue mission shortly after which security agents the arrival…” said the source.

Another respondent said that “the scene was mared with gory bodies of Mr Moses Dalyop, 28 years and Samuel Yakubu, 26 years, who leaft behind young wives with children.” For instance, Moses left behind a pregnant woman with a 3 years boy while Mr Samuel left his wife with 3 children, all of whom are crying for justice.

As at the time of filing this report, it’s gathered that the atmosphere within the general area is tense as the unsuspecting locals are very apprehensive of another attack since the militants continue to kill at will with no much done to forestall its recurrence.

The mourners, particularly women called for legalization of firearms to enable villages and communities defend themselves against armed attackers, who are believed to have vowed in their jihadists movement and territorial expansionist agenda.

In view of this, ECCVN hereby calls on Government at all levels as well as security agents to, as a matter of urgency, rise up to the occasion so as to forestall breach of law and order, and also carry out discreet investigation into the whole situation in order to bring about justice to the affected persons. Provision of scholarships and other forms of relief packages ought to be reached out to the immediate family members of the deceased so that the nostalgia being felt would be psychologically addressed.

At the time of filing this report, there’s high apprehension in the people of Sopp, and are appealing for more drastic security measures to get the perpetrators arrested, dislodgement of Fulani and suspected Bandits that have not only grabbed lands within the general area, but also terrorizing native inhabitants and other innocent people around Sopp and its environs.

The incident is said to be another round of provocation by the Fulani, who are bent on renewal of terrorism to make the frantic efforts of Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar and his supporting officers futile.

From security source, some Cows suspected to belong to the suspects have already been apprehended, and that no stone will be left unturned. Thus, there should be calmness as security agents, particularly Operation Safe Haven-OPSH is assiduously working to decisively deal with the perpetrators who are being trailed at the moment.
