PRESS RELEASE ON EARLY WARNING SIGNAL AND SECURITY ALERT – BYM

THE PRESS RELEASE OF THE BEROM YOUTHS MOULDER-ASSOCIATION (BYM) ON EARLY WARNING SIGNAL & SECURITY ALERT; 7:26pm, 31/3/2025
Information reliably given out to the desk of the National President of Berom Youths Moulder-Association (BYM), Barr. Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri is to the effect that there is a planned attack by armed Fulani on native inhabitants of Lwa and possibly other settlements of Bachi District, Riyom LGA.

According to the source, the planned attack on the unsuspecting natives is said to be a reaction over “Show of Force” exercise carried out in Saturday, 29th March, 2025 by joint security operatives, who, while in the exercise, demolished a building forcefully erected, roofed and painted during night hours on lands allegedly grabbed despite repeated warnings by Sector 6 Commander of Operation Safe Haven.

The information also has it that the attackers have enlisted the District Head of Bachi for possible elimination either at home or ambush.

It is on this premise that the BYM is making this statement, calling on all the security operatives to rise up to the occasion and brief up security in and around the District Head of Bachi as well as Lwa, Fang, Shonong, Rachi, Dum, Sharubutu, Bangai and others, in order to avert the planned banditry against law abiding citizens.

In the same vein, we are calling on residents within that general area to be on a red alert, and immediately report to security agents any suspicious movement for anticipatory rapid response.

The BYM is using this opportunity to salute the pragmatic approach and modus operandi the Sector 6 Commander, Col. S.O. Dagbemi, Sector 4 Commander, Lnt. Col. Isaac and their supporting staff as well as FOB Commander of Gashish who have stood resolute in combating banditry and other associated crimes within Berom Land. We firmly believe that this wouldn’t have been a success without the apparent support and directive of the amiable General Officer Commanding the 3rd Armoured Division & Commander of Operation Safe Haven in person of Maj. Gen. E. Oyinlola for the gallantry and dispassionate performance in safeguarding life and property in Plateau and beyond.

We are optimistic that your usual proactive response would be swiftly set in motion so that loopholes would not be found by the enemies of humanity who are living by terror.
