The Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria-ECCVN, in the course of carrying out its legitimate activities, has come to notice a gradual degeneration of the peace and security situation in and around hamlets and villages of Bisichi in Foron District of Barkin Ladi Local
Government Area, Plateau State.
This is as a result of an increasing population of unidentified Fulani and their cattle herds that ran into thousands in number in the most recent past and period which ECCVN has confirmed as disturbing. The palpable fear, tension and concerns of the said hamlets/communities who are decrying the illegal occupation of their farmlands and general abuse of their space by the Fulani herders should not be ignored.
In view of the above, it’s the considered assessment of ECCVN that the situation in and around Bisichi area qualifies as a classical early warning signal that needs be promptly attended to by the security authorities.
