President, Berom Youth Molders Association (BYM) Barr Dalyop Solomon, has revealed that about 151 villages of Mangu, Bokkos, Barkinladi, Riyom and Bassa local government areas of the state have been taking over by attackers.
As a, residents of the affected villages have been stranded, fortunate once are in IDP’s facing hard living conditions, while others are roaming about.
BYM President made the disclosure Monday in an interview with Journalists in Jos, while reacting to the recent Killings of people in the state, by suspected herders.
Speaking further on the attacks that occurred in Mangu and Bokkos local government areas, which led to the shutting down of activities at the Plateau State University Bokkos (PLASU), Barr Dalyop said the action was aimed at frustrating government efforts in the resettlement of displaced persons to their abode.
Recall that Plateau State government had a week before the Bokkos/Mangu incidents, set a committee which had visited most of the attacked communities as steps towards returning them to their ancestry homes.
On the dept. of the Bokkos University attacks; BYM President revealed that apart from the death of the PLASU students, many others were injured, including a BYM member who is a studying at the institution, currently receiving medication in a health facility in Jos.
BYM leader used the avenue and appealed to the federal government to support Plateau State to resettle displaced persons return to their homes as a means of ensuring food security since the raining season has set in.
Barr Dalyop commended efforts by the security operatives in curtailing most of the rising issues in the State; says the commander Operation Safe Haven OPSH Maj Gen Abdulsalam Abubakar, was commendable, because the commander responded to all distress calls put to him, night of the Bokkos/Mangu attacks.
