Fifty-eight cattle belonging to Berom natives, including Gyang Dachung, Davou Dachung, Dachung Tengwong and Fidelis Danladi Dalyop, were rustled by suspected Fulani bandits from the Fulani Settlement at Bangai in Gwol Hoss and Tahoss last night, in yet another brazen attack on the livelihoods of our people.

The Berom Youth Moulders-Association (BYM), under the leadership of Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri Esq., condemns this latest act of criminality in the strongest terms and expresses solidarity with the affected families.

For BYM, this is not merely about the loss of 58 cattle; it is another blow to the economic survival of our people and a worrying indication that criminal elements continue to operate with unacceptable confidence in our communities.We are deeply concerned that repeated incidents of cattle rustling, attacks and other forms of criminality are gradually becoming a pattern, with victims left to bear the heavy economic consequences. This situation must not be allowed to continue.

BYM therefore calls on the security agencies to immediately pursue the perpetrators, recover the stolen cattle and ensure that those responsible face the full weight of the law. We also demand stronger intelligence gathering, surveillance and rapid-response mechanisms around vulnerable communities to prevent further attacks.

The Association urges the affected owners and the people of Gwol Hoss and Tahoss to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement or information that could assist security agencies in recovering the stolen cattle.

BYM will not remain silent while the livelihoods and safety of our people are repeatedly threatened. We urge the authorities to act decisively before cattle rustling and other forms of criminality become further entrenched in our communities.
