ANOTHER KILLING IN RIYOM AS FULANI DEPLOYED DRONES

Fulani militias and their cohorts have advanced technologically as they attacked and shot dead Mr Bitrus Danbwarang, aged 27, of Vwak in Jol, Riyom LGA road this morning, using drone prior to invasion.

The attackers, who are said to be in hundreds, spread themselves in the farmlands within Rigi of Vwak area, waiting for unsuspecting Victims to come for earthen of the farms within. “Unknown to Mr Bitrus who was going for mining at the close-by outskirts of Vwak, he ran into the said Bandits..” as recounted by an eyewitness to the ambush laid out for him. The incident occurred following the intelligence given out on Sunday, 16th July, 2023 that there will be ambushes at some named locations within the general area of Riyom LGA.

According to the local source, the attackers are believed to be “Fulani Militias alongside Bandits that are stationed at Guava and Mahanga axis to sustain the continued terrorism on innocent people and destruction of farmlands, which have been alarming,” said an anonymous source.

Another respondent said, “last night, we were on surveillance, and saw a noisome birdlike gadget with red light hovering over our heads. It bit down our imagination, because could not actually describe what it was until one of us said it’s a drone deployed by the attackers” in spying soft spots to strike.

In another related development, report has it that yesterday, there was massive destruction of farmlands at Tanjol and Vwak of Jol Community, Gwon, Wereng-Rim and other villages of Riyom LGA where more than lands 20 farms were largely mowed down and others grazed on as narrated by a anonymous source, sprawling to pave way for food insecurity in the coming year. Victims are therefore crying out for food and material intervention to cushion the effect of banditry and militancy of the Fulani foot-soldiers.

There’s also a call for ban on open grazing since it has become a ploy to unleashed terrorism on people.
