Two persons have been reportedly killed and another injured in armed invasions on Wereng-Camp and Wereng of Riyom LGA Plateau State by Fulani Militias, employing forceful grazing with sophisticated arms brandished as a ploy to lay ambush and kill at will.
The incident occurred at about 4:43pm of yesterday, 25th June, 2023, said one of the villagers who pleads anonymity, saying, “hundreds of Fulani bearing arms came out with thousands of Cows for grazing, and forcing their way to Wereng-Camp. We became very apprehensive of another usual armed attack, which was raided on us… as it lasted for almost an hour before another group went and attacked Wereng Community at about 7:00pm, resulting to the killing of,
- Chuwang Boyi,20
- Amos Dung, 20 while Mr. Yohanna Pam, 18 injured on his hand.
Meanwhile, as at the time of filing this report, another group of Fulani Militias are said to have ambushed and harked Mr. Bulus Bakwet of Tahoss Community of Riyom LGA to a state of coma, but has been rushed to Vom Christian Hospital for medical attention. The incident is reported to have occurred at about 4:00pm.
