TWO KILLED IN ANOTHER FRESH ATTACK IN PLATEAU STATE-NORTH CENTRAL NIGERIA

Aside the recent aggressive movements that resulted in killing not less than 30 people in Plateau villages and communities of Bassa, Jos South and Riyom Local Government Areas, it’s also reported and confirmed again that, two natives of Tamborong village of Irigwe under Ganawuri of Riyom LGA were gunned down by suspected Fulani militias on the 30th June, 2021.

According to Mr John Giwa, the youth leader of the village, “the deceased were returning from Ganawuri market, unknown to us that the attackers whom we suspect as armed Fulani militias ambushed 3 persons namely, Mr. Danlami Musa, Sunday Dogo and .
Joshu Usman. Luckily, Danlami Musa escaped narrowly, but the other two died on the spot,” he said.
He added that, “Sunday Dogo, 42, left behind 3 wives and 10 children while Joshua Usman, 30, left behind his wife and 4 children, for the attackers might had targets to invade the whole village as done in 2019 but this time around Meanwhile, they coincided with the deceased and the escapee whose tragic incident saved us from a bigger onslaught” Mr John opined.
As locally sourced, the incident is said to had occurred at about 6:49pm or thereabout as the evening was relatively bright.

The youth leader commended the switf response of Operation Safe Haven’s personnel who rushed to the scene and aided in evacuating the corpses.

ECCVN gathers that the corpses have been buried according to Christian rites as thousands of mourners storm the village to bid farewell to the deceased persons who exited in such an abrupt way as expressed by an anonymous source.

It’s however appealed that Fulani herdsmen be restrained from open grazing as it has, over time, been abused by continuous mischievous grazing and terror attacks on innocent native villages and communities in Plateau State and beyond.
