Last evening, at least, three (3) locals of Foron District of Barkin Ladi LGA, Plateau State were ambushed and shot dead by suspected Fulani herdsmen who have vowed to overrun Haipang, Gassa, Kwi, Nding and other parts of Berom land.
In the same vein, Nigerian military, under a guide of trailing cattle rustling, stormed Haipang community last evening, thereby making IDPs hosted by the people of the community in a hysterical state of fear.
Effort to reach the Camp leader was not possible but Mrs Rose Moses was contacted and confirmed the development to be true that “it was around 6:00 pm when we saw military personnel heavily armed, came and surrounded the entire community including where we are. We became very panicky and started running halter scalter having recalled what we went through when we were attacked by Fulani herdsmen on 23rd day June, 2018. The IDPs Camp at RCC Haipang became empty within the twinkle of an eye. In short, I couldn’t find my little children until this morning.”
Going by what happened within the past few days within that area where there have been series of attacks, it becomes very thoughtful to clearly say that jihadism has resumed its full scale immediately President Muhammadu Buhari returned to the country.
This calls for serious rethink by people of God to widely open their eyes and watch out their environments since the most vulnerable(IDPs) who deserve Government’s protection are not only neglected but made to see draw back memories of sad moments they had in the hands of the free armed Fulanis.
