BREAKING NEWS: UPDATE ON PLATEAU ATTACKS ON SUNDAY

It would be recalled that Shortly after information about Fulani militias’ planned attack on some villages including Baten was reported, the said village truly witnessed the invasion at about 8:13pm of 25th April, 2021.Though no casualty was recorded, the incident however set the area and other neighboring villages in pandemonium following the recent happenings that engulfed more than 25 persons in similar dastardly acts meted out on unsuspecting native communities of Bassa, Bokkos, Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Jos South LGAs of Plateau aside other parts of North-Central States of Nigeria, where suspected Fulani militias have continued hurling mayhem.An anonymous source narrated that, “we received alert that Fulani militias are coming to pounce invasion on Baten and other villages of Plateau State. That made us intensify vigilance and graciously, no one was hurt by the over 30 minutes heavy shootings by the attackers,” otherwise it would have been like incidents of Wereng and Kuru where innocent miners were gruesomely murdered.It should be noted that at about same time of yesterday, 25th April, 2 natives of Irigwe ethnic extraction namely, Mr.Danlami Musa 21 years was killed while his younger brother, Friday Musa age 19 survives with severe injuries and presently receiving treatment in a local community clinic in Kpachudu village. The ambush is said to have been laid at Twin-hills Gyu along Jebbu Miango road.Going by the continued attacks and ambushes laid by the armed Fulani, it becomes expediently operative for security agents, through discreet investigation, to carry out cordoned search in Fulani settlements where It is found out to have been in possession of firearms in order for villages and communities affected in Plateau State to have relative peace.By: Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri, Esq.Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims extraction
