Fulani Herdsmen killed 13 people in Kombun District of Mangu LG

It is gathered reliably that Plateau State has, again, been plunged into another tragic day as news reached out that Kulben community of Kombun District in Mangu Local Government Area was thrown into a state of mourning last night, 8/1/2020 following an armed invasion unleashed on the native inhabitants by Fulani Hersdmen killing about 13 people with some others seriously injured receiving treatment at the General Hospital Mangu but the corpses buried in a mass grave contrary to what tradition requires for honouring the deads.


This followed a foiled attack earlier same day at about 10am in neighboring Kon village, where one person was reportedly injured.


Aside the incident, there were two separate attacks simultaneously meted out by suspected Fulani herdsmen resulting to bodily injuries sustained by women of Jol community of Riyom LGA of Plateau State today, 9/1/2020 around Darwat and Hywa areas of the community. The said incident was immediately reported to Operation Rainbow, a security outfit that speedily swung into action and timely curbed down the escalation of the attack however, the victims have been rushed to the hospital for medication treatment.


Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria-ECCVN hereby calls on Government at all levels to speedily intervene so as to avert recurrence of the dastardly acts of terrorism and unprovoked attacks the attackers are known for over times.


The civil right organization further appeals for constitution of Panel of Inquiry to investigate the inhumanity perpetrated by the marauders. Consequently, the attackers be declared as terrorist following its placement as 4th deadliest in International Terrorist Index.
