Another dark day has, again, been witnessed in Plateau State as armed Fulani militias attacked and killed Mr. Zi Dung Gwom (aged 51) of Rasat village of Foron District, Barkin Ladi LGA at about 3:11pm of today, 17th day of July, 2020.

According to local source at the scene of the incident when visited by Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria-ECCVN, it was gathered that “the deceased person spotted some Cows grazing in his farmed, and he went to ask the herders to drive out their Cows therefrom but was shot dead,” an anonymous mourner narrated. It was further gathered that vigilante group immediately swung into action, intercepted the herd of Cows and arrested a herd-boy who is said to have confessed as to the known identity of the attackers living in nearby tents.
Meanwhile, security agents also responded quickly to the distressed call placed to them by the villagers as the herd-boy and the Cows intercepted as well as the corpse were handed over to them for commencement of preliminary investigation while the mourners cried out for justice.
Burial arrangement has not yet been slated hopefully until discrete investigation is carried out first.
