THE PRESS RELEASE OF THE BEROM YOUTHS MOULDER-ASSOCIATION (BYM) ON THE PROVOCATION, CRIMINAL TRESPASS AND DEFYING OF SECURITY ORDER BY SULEIMAN ALHAJI SALE AT RANTIS OF GASHISH DISTRICT, BARKIN LADI LGA, 16TH MARCH, 2025
The attention of the Berom Youths Moulder-Association ( hereinafter referred to as “the BYM”) under the leadership of Barr . Dalyop Solomon Mwantiri has been drawn to another round of provocation, outright criminal trespass and defying of security order by one
Sulaiman Alhaji Sale 08030610196, which impels the BYM to state as follows:-
- According to available information, the said Suleiman Alhaji Sale is one of the troubling Fulani chased away from Mangun area of Mangu LGA in the recent past;
- That sometime in December, 2024, without the requisite consent first sought and obtained from the aboriginals of Rantis village in Gashish District, Barkin Ladi LGA, he laid foundations for erection of some permanent structures, which the native landowners did not only timeously objected, but also a immediately reported to security agents (FOB of Operation Safe Haven-OPSH Gashish and Divisional Police Headquarters of Barkin Ladi LGA);
- That the FOB Gashish issued a Stoppage Order to the said trespasser, but was flagrantly defied as Sulaiman Alhaji Sale continued developing the structures up to lintel level.
- That the native inhabitants of Rantis had severally asked him to vacate the said land under construction then, but he repeatedly put up deaf ears to such objections.
- To prove his self-acclaimed right and power of utter disregard to the Nigerian extant laws and constituted authorities, he covertly roofed the structures at midnight of 15th March, 2025 and brought his family members therein last night, 16th March thereby making himself an obdurate deviant and sefl authority in this 21st Century despite the fact that rule of law is the bedrock of every action.
It is worthy of mention that, following our past experiences in respect of incidences of alarming land grab that has not yet been accorded the necessary reversal action in Berom land and Plateau at large, we firmly believe that Suleiman Alhaji Sale is one of the terror killers of our people, who have been driven from their ancestral homesteads to give room for territorial expansionism of his likes, who are bent on decimating law abiding citizens through banditry, and other forms of violence such as terrorism that have ravaged hamlets, villages and communities.
On the whole, the BYM hereby calls on the Operation Safe Haven-OPSH under the gallantry leadershipofMaj. Gen. E. Ayinlola, Nigerian Police Force, the Department of Security Services (DSS) and other sister agencies to swiftly swing into action so as to avert an avoidable breach of law and order we passionately guard jealousy.
In conclusion, we wish to state that, allowing a land grabber, who undermines law and order with no fear of security agents, just to float up enjoyment of illegality and lawlessness after series of orders and objections would undeniably amount to an encouragement to any form of provocation, breaking of law, order and public Peace and security with possible aim of dragging the State aback to another round of upheaval and theatre of violent eruptions. On that note, the BYM calls for drastic measures over what Suleiman Alhaji Sale did in the eyes of the law so that deterrence could be signaled to those with such proclivity. We equally state unambiguously that Suleiman Alhaji Sale should be held responsible for any security breach within that general area, for that has been the fallout whenever there’s such blatant by land grabbers and other associated criminals
