The Berom Youths Moulder-Association (BYM) condemn attack and killing of one Mr. Pam Dachung Dalyop, a farmer and miner of DIYAN village of Rim Community, Riyom LGA of Plateau State at about 8:00pm of 22nd October, 2024.
According to information locally sourced, it is given that the attackers, suspected to be armed Fulani went into the residence of the unsuspecting deceased person, and opened gunfire, resulting to the death of the native inhabitant, who was right inside his house. The BYM calls for calmness as security agents are working assiduously to identify and apprehended the culprits for necessary actions. We equally call on the security to intensify efforts towards arresting anyone found wanting, and that there should be a stationing of security personnel around the Diyan villages, which stands very vulnerable to any form of arm invasion. In the same vein, it’s abundantly established that the native inhabitant (mostly women) of Tahoss had over 50 farms harvested and grazed upon overnight of Sunday, 20th October, 2024. We implore the relevant bodies including the Federal, State and Local Government Council to come to the aid of the victims, who went on Monday to harvest their ripe Corn, but found the crops harvested overnight. This calls becomes expedience to avert impending hunger that has creep into the homes of these affected people.
As it has been informed from the desk of the BYM, we urge all inhabitants to observe the safety rules that have been issued and also rise up to the surveillance of their immediate and extended environments, and report swiftly any suspicious movement to the available security outfits on ground.
